Jean-Philippe Cointet (36 years) was trained as an engineer (Ecole Polytechnique) and holds a PhD in Complex Systems from the Ecole Polytechnique (2009, CREA). He is the scientific director of the CorText platform at LISIS which designs original methods for textual corpora analysis and provide tools for social sciences and humanities empirical research. As such he’s taking part in several research projects on social media analysis (Facebook (Algopol ANR project), online comments), science dynamics (oncology collective thoughts (CIHR project), synthetic biology emergence), political science dynamics (climate change negotiations (ENB), or political discourses). He also develops original methods in between NLP and complex networks about the modeling of multi-dimensional textual corpora (semantic mapping, network dynamics, data visualization). He’s also co-supervising two PhD students working on the history of Artificial Intelligence (Antoine Mazières) and network morphogenesis (David Fourquet) and teaching in maser NUMI.
