Jacopo Ambrosj

Jacopo Ambrosj is a post-doctoral researcher at LISIS, working on project ROR² (Recherche Ouverte et Responsable X Research On Research). As member of ROR², Jacopo is developing a taxonomy of online platforms for knowledge dissemination, tracing their strategies, values, and evolution over time.

Jacopo obtained their PhD at KU Leuven and UAntwerpen with a thesis titled To be or not to be value-free: research integrity between ideals and professional norms, a work characterised by a combination of philosophical analysis and empirical (qualitative) methods. Jacopo’s fields of expertise and academic interests comprise general philosophy of science, social epistemology, philosophy of biology and medicine. They are particularly interested in the way values influence science and scientific methods and the way scientific knowledge influences the values and beliefs of the broader society.

Jacopo Ambrosj est chercheur post-doctoral au LISIS, travaillant sur le projet ROR² (Recherche Ouverte et Responsable X Research On Research). En tant que membre de ROR², Jacopo développe une taxonomie des plateformes en ligne pour la diffusion de la recherche (résultats et données), en retraçant leurs stratégies, leurs valeurs et leur évolution dans le temps.

Jacopo a obtenu son doctorat conjointement à la KU Leuven et à la UAntwerpen avec une thèse sur l’intégrité de la recherche et l’influence des valeurs dans la science (2024). Ses recherches se caractérisent par un mélange d’analyse philosophique et de méthodes empiriques (qualitatives). Ses recherches portent sur l’épistémologie sociale, les questions de valeurs dans la science, en particulier dans les méthodes scientifiques, l’influence des valeurs de la société sur la science et l’influence de la science sur les valeurs de la société.
