IFRIS
The Institut Francilien Recherche Innovation Société (IFRIS, Institute for Research and Innovation in Society) is a collaborative institute focused on research, innovation and society, comprised of nine research units in Ile-de-France (Paris region).
This consortium, created in 2007, studies issues surrounding the interactions between science, technology and society, as well as research and innovation policies. It has approximately 180 researchers and research professors (including about 100 tenured professors), and coordinates the SITES (Science, Innovation and Technology in Society) Laboratory of Excellence devoted to research in the field of Science, Technology and Innovation in Society.
LISIS and IFRIS share close and longstanding ties: several researchers from the laboratory took part in the foundation of the consortium and have contributed or are still contributing to its leadership. Pierre-Benoit Joly, in particular, was head of IFRIS from 2009 to 2014.
