Fanny Pellissier

ENGREF, Ministry of Agriculture

Fanny Pellissier is an agricultural engineer and an IPEF engineer (Corps of Ponts, des Eaux et des Forêts). She is completing a PhD in sociology under the direction of Pierre-Benoît Joly. Her research combines the sociology of science and technology with the socio-history of public policy. Using the example of pesticides, she looks at how categories of public policy are built in historically situated contexts, and how the configurations generated by framing an issue as a public problem can be de-stabilized/re-stabilized over time. More generally, her thesis explores how the conditions enabling the transition to a regime of agricultural innovation are created and organized over the course of time. To this end, Fanny Pellissier analyses the process of the Europeanization of public policies, knowledge production by and for public policies, and the evolution of the pesticide market. She thus seeks to further understanding of the renewal of public policy in transitional situations, in a context of uncertainty and controversy.
