Charlotte Freudenberg works at the Competence Center Foresight of the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research in Karlsruhe, Germany. She is a PhD student at LISIS since 2022 under supervision of Dr. Matthias Weber and Dr. Douglas K. R. Robinson. Her dissertation focuses on the development and implementation of participatory methods at European level for vision, scenario and policy option development for sustainability transitions.
At the Competence Center Foresight, she works in strategic foresight and planning projects for clients from politics, economy and society. Her research focuses on the conception and moderation of participatory processes for innovative governance with the involvement of experts and stakeholders. She has worked in strategic foresight projects for the European Commission, the European Environment Agency, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and the European Union Agency for Asylum. Charlotte Freudenberg studied social sciences and international politics at Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of Vienna and Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability at Blekinge University of Technology in Sweden.
