Mariem Mitre is an agricultural engineer and professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the National University of Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina. She has two postgraduate degrees, one in Extension and Rural Development and the other in Social and Political Anthropology.
She is currently beginning her PhD in Social Sciences, in the field of the sociology of food.
